For some reason I’ve really been hitting the monsters around here. Whats special about this one you ask? Why thank you for asking, hit ‘find more’ for a couple tidbits…
I usually try to do a couple new things with each model, this time I gave nCloth a shot. Modeling the towel folded up like that was a no go, even just to get a model worth sculpting. nCloth to the rescue; just model a rectangular towel shape and drop it into his waiting hand! A day of tweaking later and I’ve got myself a towel! I cant really show a picture of that…i can, however, show you pictures of my skin and eye textures! ooohh!
here’s the skin, made from fish and flower petals:
and the eyes are from the inside of an apple:
amazing! but i’m not done there…to top it off i used a hair system to manipulate a fur system for his hair…get it…”top it off”!…his hair on his head…”top it off”?!
anywho, the little blue lines are a hair system, the black lines are a fur system. I manually picked where i wanted the blue curves to be, tweaked some settings so it’d fall just so, did tons of research and grumbling because it wouldn’t work, realized i had to remove the connection i had to the fur-length, did more research because it still didn’t work right, made the hair curves closer in length to the fur itself, did more tweaking…and voila…i did it!
was it all worth it? I dont know…you tell me…
…but please say yes.

Very interesting process for texturing this fella.
I can’t really say that I’d want to spend Halloween with a vampire, though. Maybe I’m just close-minded.

thanks, as far as skin goes using photos of organic objects seems to work nicely…and he looks lovable to me, I’d go camping with him.
